About Us > Our Commitment to You

Regardless how much time and effort it takes us to get it, our mantra of quality and client satisfaction is our #1 goal. Our business has since become largely dependent on referrals and good word-of-mouth from our many loyal clients, who have continued to use us year after year. No matter how large or small the project is, our services always come with a warranty for your peace of mind.

Chuck Kensicki, Managing Officer of Good Home Construction, answers the following questions:

What sets you apart from the other contractors?
I have two guiding principles that I believe set me apart from the others. The first is that even though I am a general contractor, I do a lot of the work myself. You will see me onsite almost everyday, working alongside my crew. I am not that kind of guy who sells you the service, and then leaves the job to be completed by others. I also rarely subcontract work out, so I can provide the best quality and control for my clients. The second is that I am committed and passionate about helping homeowners restore and renovate their homes. I am not in this business for a quick buck, so I rarely take on more than one project at any given time. This ensures that I spend the time to focus on my clients' demands and that their projects get finished with minimal interruptions and frustrations.

Who do you employ? Because of our commitment to our clients' safety, I do not use day laborers. I also do not employ undocumented individuals, and only hire full-time employees who successfully pass a thorough background check. If on rare occasions I need to use a subcontractor, the subcontractor must pass our screening process, and be fully licensed and insured.

Why work on old homes?
I love the artistry and the craftsmanship of that bygone era. I am also a great admirer of wood, nature, and simple pleasures, which was often all incorporated into early 1900s building trends. The details and the woodwork of old homes just simply cannot be found today; where the larger the size and the cheaper the materials are the building standards. It also connects me to my grandfather, who helped me restore my first home, a Spanish Revival bungalow. Having built two of his homes himself, he taught me invaluable old school building methods which focused on quality, strength and durability, which I have carried with me until today.
